I am Jhonattan Vanegas, biologist, herpetologist and nature photographer. My work grows out of the curiosity to understand the natural world and the need to share what I find along the way.
Through photography, education and field experiences, I want to bring people closer to biodiversity, reveal the story behind each species and inspire a more conscious relationship with nature.
Because knowing is the first step toward connecting, and connecting is the first step toward protecting.
My way of seeing the world
When we learn to look at nature again, we also learn to look at ourselves.
We live fast. We often move through the world without really stopping to observe it, and in that rhythm we can also forget to listen to ourselves. For me, nature photography has been a way to look again, to slow down and to learn that photography is not only about making an image. It is about being present, staying curious and letting ourselves connect with something far greater than us.
I want my photographs to raise questions. I want knowledge to help us understand. I want travel to bring us face to face with other forms of life, other territories and other ways of seeing the world. And I want everyone to be able to use photography to tell their own story of the planet.
Maybe conservation also begins there: understanding that we are not separate from nature, and that caring for what surrounds us is, in a way, learning to care for ourselves too.

There are things we only understand once we live them. Keeping Nature Tours grew out of our passion for nature, photography and exploration. We create experiences that bring you closer to biodiversity, teach you how to observe it and help you discover the stories behind each species and each territory.
Through nature, photography and wildlife expeditions, we travel across extraordinary ecosystems alongside guides, photographers, biologists and local communities who help us understand them from a closer, more respectful and more conscious perspective.
We want you to come home with great photographs and memories, but above all with a different connection to nature and a story of your own to tell.
